Hi John,
This might surprise you: My favorite part of volunteering with When We All Vote are the difficult conversations I have with my classmates who think their vote doesn’t matter. This is where I feel I’m making an impact -- helping people who wouldn’t otherwise vote understand that their vote is their voice and that one vote can determine an election.
A year ago, I joined When We All Vote through Phi Theta Kappa, a community college honor society, by speaking to students on my campus and assisting them in registering to vote online. After talking to some of my peers, I learned many felt their vote wouldn’t make a difference -- so why even show up to the polls?
I know the feelings my classmates expressed are shared across the country. That’s why the work When We All Vote does is so important. When We All Vote gave me the resources to have conversations with new or infrequent voters, and most importantly, a place to send them to register themselves to vote.
John, if you believe our country is stronger when we all vote, please chip in today ahead of Giving Tuesday.
We have a lot of work to do to make sure every eligible voter is registered before the 2020 elections. That’s why I signed on to volunteer with When We All Vote for another year -- this time as a Voting Squad Captain. I’ll be organizing students on my campus and in Phi Theta Kappa to register and vote in every election.
Your support allows When We All Vote to train me and other volunteers across the country and give us the resources we need to have one-on-one conversations with voters. With the 2020 elections less than a year away, we need to keep the momentum going. Chip in now to help us do just that.
Thank you,
Tabitha-Anne
