Team, in just a couple weeks, the DACA program will turn 10 years old!
Back in June 2012, immigrant youth fought like hell to win DACA — a life-saving program that has opened doors to better paying jobs, educational opportunities, and temporary protections from deportation for some undocumented people.
But 10 years later, not much has changed. Our elected officials haven't done anything to fully and permanently protect immigrant people, instead giving credence to more anti-immigrant attacks.
Immigrant youth have been on the front lines in defense of the DACA program against attack after attack for a decade, which is why ahead of the 10th anniversary, we’re taking action to demand more for our immigrant communities.
After 10 years of DACA, we’re planning to mobilize immigrant youth, activists, and allies in Washington, DC on the June 15th anniversary to demand more than just band-aid solutions. But we can’t do it without you.
We’re setting a grassroots fundraising goal of raising $10,000 leading up to the 10th anniversary to help get us to Washington, DC and keep up our critical work advocating for permanent protections for all 11 million people living under the fear of detention and deportation.
Will you help us reach our goal and renew our fight for permanent protections before DACA’s 10-year anniversary by making a donation of any amount today?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
DACA’s 10th anniversary should be a celebratory occasion in recognition of the endless hard work that was put in to win and keep these protections. But it should also remind us that DACA was always a temporary solution and that we deserve more.
We have been building undeniable power for years. So after a decade of DACA, it’s time for things to change.
