Dear NRDC Activist,

We're getting a head start on Giving Tuesday, and here's why:

An anonymous donor has agreed to donate $200,000 in the fight against
President Trump and his pro-pollution administration — [ [link removed] ]but only if
5,000 supporters join with a gift to NRDC by midnight on Tuesday, December
3.

It's an ambitious goal — it has to be.

The Trump administration is escalating its efforts to force through a slew
of dangerous cuts, rollbacks, and corporate giveaways while it still can.
2020 will be an exceptionally challenging year — and we must have the
resources to respond to every attack Trump and his cronies sling at us.

[ [link removed] ]Chip in with an urgent Giving Tuesday gift now. Be one of the 5,000
supporters we need to unlock $200,000 that goes straight to defending the
environment!

Despite the Trump administration's series of defeats in court — many of
them against NRDC's tough, committed lawyers — they're doubling down on
their anti-environment, pro-polluter agenda. They're taking a hatchet to
the laws and regulations that have protected us for decades — those that
prevent factories from pumping toxic chemicals into the air, landscapes
from being flattened by bulldozers, rivers from catching fire, and so much
more.

Since Inauguration Day, the Trump administration has tried to roll back at
least 85 environmental protections. And they've got some of our most
crucial safeguards in their sights: The Endangered Species Act, the Clean
Water Act, the Clean Power Plan, and more.

They've even made the reckless decision to withdraw the United States from
the landmark Paris climate agreement — abandoning an international pact to
drastically cut carbon emissions and effectively sabotaging the world's
best hope at stopping the worst impacts of climate change.

But we refuse to be worn down by their relentless attacks — in fact, these
challenges only motivate us to fight back harder than ever. [ [link removed] ]And today,
we're asking you to join us with a special gift to help unlock the
$200,000 we need to ramp up our critical campaigns for the environment and
to fight Trump's assaults.

The courts are often our last, best line of defense against the Trump
administration's frantic efforts to dismantle our bedrock environmental
protections.

And time and time again, we've won: We've filed 96 lawsuits since Trump
came into office. Of the cases settled, we've racked up a total of 56
victories and only five losses — a 92% success rate.

We're
counting on our community of strong, dedicated advocates — like you. This
is the point that will determine whether or not we have the resources we
need to turn back Trump's worst assaults on our planet.

[ [link removed] ]Make your Giving Tuesday gift now. You'll bring us one step closer to
$200,000 for the environment — unlocked when we hit 5,000 donors.

Thank you for sticking with us during the most challenging time in NRDC's
50-year history. You make our work possible.

Sincerely,

Donations will be used to help unlock $200,000 in critical funds to help
fight the Trump administration’s anti-environment attacks, and for other
campaigns that allow NRDC to protect the environment in the most effective
way possible.
