John, I'm excited to share the latest from CRC with you:What special interest is defending "home equity theft?" ([link removed]
In 11 states, if a property owner owes property taxes, he can lose the property's entire net worth through foreclosure, even if that's more than the taxes owed. This is called "home equity theft," and some trade groups that profit from this extreme form of government taking -- including the Michigan Townships Association and the International Municipal Lawyers Association ([link removed] -- are fighting in court to preserve this injustice. CRC's Robert Stilson reports here ([link removed] is threatening to further disrupt supply chains? ([link removed]
After World War II, the United States suffered a severe economic disruption, and organized labor worsened matters by launching the largest wave of industrial action in American history. While current supply chain problems are largely not Big Labor's fault, today's labor movement is again threatening to capitalize on chaos to gain concessions they want. CRC's Michael Watson warns of the risks here ([link removed] vote by mail become permanent nationwide? ([link removed]
In 2020, Democrats fell in love with all-mail elections, believing they helped elect Joe Biden. Many people see voting by mail as a convenience, but to political activists it's a cynical way to enable ballot trafficking, fraud, and get-out-the-vote operations. If someone wanted to control vote-by-mail efforts, taking over the Postal Service would be the first step. The President's appointees to the Postal Service's board of governors appear intended to do just that. CRC's Hayden Ludwig exposes the scheme here ([link removed] close are Big Labor and the Democracy Alliance? ([link removed]
For years the Democracy Alliance has embodied big money on the American Left. The alliance, co-founded by billionaire George Soros, is notable for the depth of its partners' pockets and the relative secrecy of its operations. Unsurprisingly, unions have occupied a central place in the Democracy Alliance from the very beginning. CRC's Robert Stilson documents the connections here ([link removed]

What Do Conservatives Have in Common with the Black Panthers?

Much of Panther behavior, from beginning to end, was totally indefensible. As the group was imploding in the late-1970s, it became almost comically gruesome. A team of three Panther assassins once attempted to kill a prosecution witness who was willing to testify that she had seen Huey Newton murder a teenage prostitute. The Black Panther gunmen managed only to kill one of their own when they went to the wrong address and accidentally raided the home of a grandmother who shot back at them.

By 1977 the Black Panthers were nobody's idea of responsible gun ownership. But it didn't start out that way. In 1967 they were the known as the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense.

Dictatorship of Woke Capital
In this episode ([link removed] Last year, we had author Stephen Soukup on the podcast to discuss his book The Dictatorship of Woke Capital: How Political Correctness Captured Big Business. In recent months, "woke capital" has taken a few major hits: heterodox billionaire Elon Musk has bid to purchase Twitter with a promise to expand free speech on the platform, Florida responded to Disney's effort to fight a new state ordinance by stripping Disney of special legal privileges, and Netflix all but told "woke" employees that if they didn't like the company's producing content they disagreed with, they could take a hike.

We welcome Stephen back to discuss where woke capital is, where he sees it going, and whether this pushback is the start of a trend.
