I’m Dara, the Deputy Field Director for Chris Jones for Governor. As I’m sure many of you know, Chris actually visited all 75 counties in the state in the lead-up to the primary — the Promise of Arkansas Tour — hearing the problems, concerns, hopes, and dreams of Arkansans from all walks of life.

And now after officially winning the Democratic nomination, Chris set off to do it again, this time dubbing it the Walk a Mile in Your Shoes Tour. Over the summer, Chris will be returning to every county in Arkansas, walking one mile in each one while speaking with voters, advocates, and activists about the issues facing our state. 

$20 will go a long way in making sure our team has the resources to visit every single county again — sharing conversations with voters and building our campaign’s strength to win in November. Can you please chip in $20 or anything you can to kick off this new tour?

So, why the name? Chris believes Arkansans need a governor who understands the challenges they face by literally walking a mile in their shoes. I know how excited he is to return to each county, meet folks where they are, and have the type of one-on-one conversations that folks deserve to have with their elected leaders. 

And me and the organizing team will be there too — passing out yard signs, registering voters, and hosting large community events. 

Neither Chris nor this campaign is taking a single voter for granted, and he’s committed to creating a positive vision as governor that leaves absolutely nobody behind. But as tireless as Chris can be (trust me, I know!), the fact is that he can’t do this alone. It’s going to take the full strength of this grassroots coalition to power us through the summer and the fall, so it’s my sincere hope that you’ll give what you can today and help us make history.
