John,
The first public January 6th Committee hearing is approaching—on Thursday, June 9, we’ll have an opportunity for the first time to hear testimony from witnesses and learn more about what the committee has been investigating for the last year.
Have questions about what the committee has the power to do or what could result from the hearings? We’ve got answers.
A few weeks ago, we asked for your questions, and we’ve answered many of them on our new page. From how the committee works, to what laws Donald Trump and his allies may have violated, and what accountability is possible—we’ve outlined what we know so far. This is just the first step—we’ll be doing our best to provide context, push for accountability, and highlight new revelations throughout the hearings.
Trump and many of his allies may have broken multiple laws in their efforts to overturn the 2020 election, and it’s long past time for real accountability. These hearings won’t get us there on their own—we also need the Department of Justice and other agencies to investigate and act—but they’re a crucial component of that fight.
Stay tuned for more updates as the hearings unfold.
Thank you,
The CREW Team
