Since launch, we haven’t just outraised Democrats in the race — we’ve outraised every single Republican candidate running for U.S. Senate in Missouri, including GOP frontrunner Eric Greitens. That’s never been done by a non-politician until now.

But we didn’t just beat them all. We raised this support the right way, with grassroots support from every single Missouri county and the city of St. Louis. We earned support from leaders like Ferguson Mayor Ella Jones, and national grassroots organizations like VoteVets and the League of Conservation Voters. And polling shows we’re the only candidate that makes this race a dead heat in November against Greitens.

And we did it without taking a single cent from corporate PACs, Big Pharma and Big Oil execs, and federal lobbyists.

CHIP IN TO HELP US KEEP UP OUR MOMENTUM

Because of the strength of this grassroots movement, I wasn’t worried when Trudy Busch Valentine decided to make our Democratic primary competitive by entering on the final day of candidate filing. I know that our message didn’t need to change — because we were fighting for everyday people in this race, and Trudy claimed to be doing the same.

But then, over the weekend, I was given disturbing news. Multiple voters and supporters across Missouri have informed us that they’ve been contacted for a poll conducted by Trudy Busch Valentine’s team that included a series of false attacks on Lucas, paired with statements of praise for Trudy.

Any seasoned campaigner can tell you the goal of a poll like this is crystal clear: Trudy wants to buy the nomination, and she’s preparing to launch negative TV ads against Lucas to undermine our grassroots movement.
