Dear John, As you plan ahead for Giving Tuesday, I hope you consider putting the American Immigration Council on your list of charities to support on this special day of philanthropy.
There is an urgent need for bold action to stop the attacks and the drastic impact it is having on men, women, and children. We have answered that call, but we need your help.
We are on the frontlines. We are assisting asylum seekers in El Paso, Texas—helping them obtain release from detention so they can reunite with family and pursue their cases—and we are supporting access to lawyers for the thousands of mothers and children detained by the government at the largest detention facility in Dilley, Texas.
We are exposing the horrifying conditions in detention and demanding improved access to medical services. And we are taking to the courts to challenge unlawful, unjust policies that are obstructing asylum seekers from seeking protection and keeping families apart.
Donate today or join us later this week and help make this Giving Tuesday a huge success.
On behalf of everyone dedicated to preserving America’s immigration tradition, I thank you. Kind regards, Beth Werlin Executive Director
PS - You can also start a Facebook fundraiser today to support a fair and just immigration system. |

We work to shape how America thinks about immigration and acts towards immigrants. To work towards a more fair and just immigration system, the Council brings together four coordinated approaches to advance change—litigation, research, advocacy, and communications.
