John, This weekend is Wear Orange Weekend, a day when people across the country wear orange to raise awareness of the impact of gun violence in our communities, and to remember the countless lives lost to senseless violence. This year marks the 10 year anniversary of the Sandy Hook shooting, and after a decade of inaction, the recent shootings in Uvalde, Tulsa, and across the country make it clear it is far past time for comprehensive gun reform legislation. We cannot wait another moment, so Emilia is demanding action to address gun violence across the United States. Will you stand with her in calling for common sense gun reform legislation by adding your name to our petition?
Yet instead of taking real common sense steps to address the plague of gun violence across the country, leaders here in Ohio have chosen to pass dangerous “Stand Your Ground'' regulations, eliminate safety and permit requirements for concealed carry, and even go as far as passing a law to arm teachers in schools. Enough is enough: No one should live in fear of senseless gun violence, whether they’re at church, school, the hospital, the grocery store, or a nightclub. In Congress, Emilia will always be a vote for gun violence prevention, and will stand firmly against the gun lobby and the politicians they fund. So please, can you join Emilia and add your name to our petition calling for common sense gun reform legislation today?
Thank you for your support on this critical issue. -Team Emilia |
