Buffalo. Uvalde. Tulsa. These communities have all been torn apart by gun violence -- in the last month alone.
These massacres are heartbreaking and senseless. And the American people are crying out for real solutions to our nation's gun violence epidemic. Not more moments of silence. Not more thoughts and prayers. Action. We've had too many moments of silence. Too many thoughts and prayers.
Republicans filibustered our most recent attempt to bring a gun violence prevention bill to the Senate floor. They wouldn't even let us debate it. They've been blocking action on this for over a decade -- but I'm not giving up.
Americans should not live in fear that they and the people will be victims of gun violence. We should all be able to go out to grocery stores, schools, places of worship, movie theaters -- all the other places that make up our communities -- and know that we will return home safely.
