Frankly, John, I’m pissed off – the living conditions at Naval shipyards are abhorrent and need immediate attention.
I could say a lot more words you might expect from a sailor – but I’ll keep it simple, our service members deserve so much better.
We should be making investments in shipyards to provide our sailors with a quality of life and a healthy work environment during maintenance and refueling operations. But instead, our sailors are faced with lack of electricity and hot water, construction noises that make it impossible for them to rest, and no mental health resources.
We have an obligation to our sailors to ensure that they are being supported while serving our country!
As Vice Chair of the Armed Services Committee, a member of the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, and a 20-year Navy Veteran myself, I’m one of the top voices in Congress for more investment in the health and well-being of our Armed Forces.
But I’m also one of the GOP’s top targets heading into November – and if Republicans succeed in flipping my seat, I won’t be able to fight for this issue in Congress.
Will you rush a donation of $25 to my campaign today to give me the resources to hold my seat and defend our Democratic House majority?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Thank you,
Elaine
