John,
My name is Steve Kerr. You might know me as the head coach of the Golden State Warriors, but that’s not why I’m writing to you today.
One week ago, an 18 year old walked into an elementary school in Uvalde, TX, and killed 19 children and two teachers with a legally purchased AR-15 rifle. And already, just yesterday, four more people have been killed with an assault weapon in Tulsa, OK. These tragedies are both horrific and completely preventable – like so many others before it and like my own story. I want to share my story with you to explain exactly why your gift to Brady TODAY could not be more important – these tragedies will continue to happen without your help.
Before I was an NBA championship coach, before I was a player, I was just a young man working hard to make my dreams come true. But 37 years ago, my life was shattered when my father was shot and killed outside his office.

That was the moment I realized no one is immune to gun violence until we all are — and to make the world safer for all of us, we need to be honest about the fight ahead. We have a right to live without the constant fear of gun violence, but as long as the NRA, Mitch McConnell, and their pocket politicians threaten this right — our fight isn't over. And I'm proud to take on that fight alongside the incredible activists and survivors at Brady.

Brady works every single day to loosen the gun lobby's chokehold on our lives and stop gun violence from claiming any more of our friends, family, and neighbors. But it's not easy — the NRA is spending $2 MILLION to stop life-saving progress, and Brady is fully relying on grassroots supporters like you to make tangible change in this country.
That's why today is especially critical: With momentum rising in the aftermath of the horrific shooting last week, you can make your biggest impact of the entire YEAR to power Brady's life-saving work and finally defeat the NRA. Please, will you donate RIGHT NOW to defeat the NRA, and save lives from gun violence?

|
I can’t emphasize this enough: In the wake of this dreadful tragedy, if we’re going to move forward with Brady’s plan for gun safety reform, we need to join forces to overcome the NRA. Together, we’re unstoppable, and I hope you’ll join me in this fight to take action on gun violence, John.
