Hey folks, this Pride Month, we have work to do.
June is a celebration of the strides the LGBTQ+ community has made against hate and bigotry in this country, but this year, that progress is in jeopardy.
Conservatives stacked the Supreme Court. They tested the waters with pointless "bathroom bills." They banned us from saying “gay.”
LGBTQ+ people in red states are at risk. They’re relying on the Democratic majority in Congress to defend their basic human rights.
Last year, I was proud to cast my vote for the Equality Act, a bill that would guarantee the rights and freedoms of LGBTQ+ Americans.
Unfortunately, the Senate has failed to pass the Equality Act into law. This Pride Month, every American needs to demand that the Senate pass the Equality Act immediately.
Pride Month is a time of celebration and joy, not fear. LGBTQ+ Americans deserve leaders who have their backs.
I will always fight for you and your rights. This month and every month.
