This email is a little longer than usual, but it’s important, so I hope you’ll read to the end. It introduces you to three North Carolina Democrats who need your help to win their critical midterm elections.
If you already know how important it is that we elect Democratic candidates up and down the ballot this fall, you can go ahead and split a donation between our team and their campaigns here.
John, Republican lawmakers in Raleigh and in states across this country are failing us, and voters know it. In November’s elections, we have the opportunity to demand change at the ballot box.
I’m ready to take action on issues like gun violence prevention, reproductive rights, climate change, and more, but I can’t do it alone. I need allies serving with me in Raleigh to help.
You know by now that my team and I are prioritizing sending financial support to NC Democratic candidates ahead of the midterm elections, and I’ve been so gratified to see so many of you step up to power our efforts. By electing Democrats to serve in Raleigh, we can hold the line against a GOP supermajority that would allow the far-right to push through legislation that’s simply wrong for our state.
Today, I want to introduce you to three Democratic legislators who need your help building a firewall against the extreme legislation coming out of Republican legislative leaders — and I also need to ask you to split a contribution between their campaigns and our team to help them win their critical elections:
Sydney Batch represents District 17 in the State Senate. She previously served in the State House and is a leader on issues of education, environmental protection, and health care access and affordability. She’s a champion for Wake County families and solving the critical issues facing our communities. I know we can count on Sydney to continue advancing our shared priorities after she is re-elected.
Rachel Hunt comes from a family where serving North Carolina is just what you do. Her father was North Carolina’s longest-serving governor. Now, she is a member of the State House and is running to represent District 42 in the State Senate. She’s a steadfast fighter for children and families and is a key supporter of expanding health care coverage. If we’re going to expand Medicaid in our state, hers is a vote we’ll need in Raleigh.
Robert Reives is the current Democratic minority leader in the State House, where he represents District 54. He’s been a leader in Raleigh since he was first elected, and he deeply believes that our government has the power to improve North Carolinians’ lives. He’s a fierce defender of voting rights, reproductive rights, and public education. We cannot risk losing Robert’s voice in the legislature.
What it comes down to is this: The GOP too often refuses to work with Democrats to find real solutions to the problems facing our communities — and they’re eager to enact a far-right agenda that just isn’t what the majority wants. From combating gun violence to securing reproductive rights, we MUST stand up and take action. That means we need Democratic advocates for the issues that matter most working hard in our legislature.
Sydney, Rachel, Robert, and I are counting on your support right now. Please, split a donation of any size to help North Carolina Democrats win up and down the ballot >>>
