A War Powers Resolution was introduced for Yemen. Tell your reps to pass it!
<[link removed]>ACT NOW! <[link removed]>
Dear John,
Since the Yemen war started in 2015, the situation in Yemen quickly spiraled into what the UN refers to as “the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.” Because of activists like you, the tides began to change here in the U.S., but Biden hasn't ended all U.S. support for the war. A War Powers Resolution (WPR) effort, which is Congress’s way of reclaiming war-making powers from the President, is our course of action.
Because of activists like you, a War Powers Resolution was just introduced in Congress. Remind your reps to pass it! <[link removed]>
A few of years ago, a historic WPR for Yemen passed. The WPR that passed was bipartisan and made it through the House and Senate only to be vetoed by then-President Trump. Chances are, your representative and senators want to end the war in Yemen.
The US allowing spare parts transfers and repairs is so important because the Saudi Royal Air Force could not function without them. Right now there is a ceasefire in Yemen that was extended another two months, but in case the ceasefire isn't sustained, we have to act now!
Tell your members of Congress to cosponsor and pass HJRES87, a War Powers Resolution for Yemen. <[link removed]>
Your dedication to the cause led us to this point. We must all come together and speak out against this horrible war.
Toward peace,
Danaka & the whole CODEPINK Team
