John, yep, that's me in the top-left corner. This is my entire family – we even got our two dogs and pet ferret in the shot!

As a kid growing up in a union family in rural Iowa, I've always known what it looks like to work hard for everything you've got. My parents both worked hard to provide for our family – my mom in the public school system and my dad as a union pipefitter-welder.

They did everything to give my siblings and me a fair shot at life. But as good-paying union jobs disappear and the cost of living skyrockets, it's getting harder and harder for parents to give their kids the opportunities they deserve.

I'm running for U.S. Senate to fight for those working families and their kids. Everyone deserves a fair shot at a good life and a bright future – but right now, too many Iowans and Americans are getting left behind by out-of-touch politicians in Washington.

I'm in this fight because I care about my community – but after 47 years in Washington, my opponent, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R), only cares about big corporate donors and DC lobbyists. He represents everything that's wrong with Washington, and in November, Iowans are going to show him the door.

Now that he's facing record-low approval ratings, we've got a real momentum advantage. But I need you with me: please, if you believe in winning a better future for our kids, can you rush $5 before tonight's midnight deadline to defeat Sen. Grassley and expand our Senate majority?
