Hi John, Chrissy’s campaign manager, Shane, here. I know there's a lot going on, but can I borrow a minute of your time? I need to tell you about our GOP opponent, Guy Ciarrocchi – but before I explain, can I ask you to please chip in $5 or whatever you can to help Chrissy defeat him?

Bottom line up front: Guy Ciarrocchi is an anti-choice MAGA Republican who holds dangerous beliefs aligned with right-wing extremist GOP gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano. Ciarrocchi is plain wrong for Pennsylvania. Let me tell you why:

At a time when reproductive freedom hangs in the balance, Ciarrocchi has called for Roe v. Wade – a critical judicial decision that gives Americans the right to safe abortions – to be overhauled, saying, "Roe is now not only bad law, it’s based on very, very outdated science. It is time for Roe to be replaced."

That's not all. In his previous unsuccessful campaigns, he was endorsed by anti-abortion groups who support banning all forms of contraception. Ciarrocchi himself has lobbied against the distribution and use of condoms and contraceptives.

And then there's Doug Mastriano, the GOP gubernatorial nominee. He believes there should be NO exceptions for abortion – even in cases of rape, incest, or the health of the mother. He's even willing to criminalize abortion, claiming that he'll put doctors in jail for performing them.

If Ciarrocchi and Mastriano are elected, we can expect them to ask a GOP-controlled PA legislature to pass a bill to criminalize abortion, which Mastriano would sign and Ciarrocchi would applaud. Today, there are just barely enough votes in the U.S. House to pass federal legislation to codify the fundamental right to an abortion – Ciarrocchi’s victory would put that out of reach.

I don't say all of this to scare you. But this is truly what is at stake.

Meanwhile, Chrissy – a mom, a teacher, and a veteran – has spent her time in Congress advocating for women, making sure they are treated equitably and have the fundamental right to make their own health decisions. And she'll continue to do that when reelected – but this race will be an uphill battle.
