On Thursday, Hakeem and his Democratic colleagues on the House Judiciary Committee passed the “Protect Our Kids Act” out of committee, sending it to the House floor for a vote next week.

This critical anti-gun violence legislation is a direct response to our epidemic of mass shootings — the comprehensive package contains measures to raise the age to purchase a semi-automatic rifle and bans the sale, manufacturing, or possession of large-capacity magazines, amongst other popular, common sense reforms.

But at a time when our nation is demanding our leaders to step up and come together to deliver results, every single Republican voted against protecting our children from weapons of war designed to slaughter human beings.

They derailed the critical hearing with inappropriate outbursts and flashed their own personal guns from home over video call.

Time and time again, the GOP proves that they are too extreme to govern. Hakeem is on the frontlines of the fight to defend our House majority by electing Democrats, but he can’t do it without your support.
