John,
It shouldn't take a mass shooting to pass common sense gun laws, but here we are, with weeks filled with mass shootings. 10 people killed in Buffalo, NY; 19 children and two teachers killed in Uvalde, TX; Four people killed in Tulsa, OK. What’s worse? These are not the only mass shootings our country has experienced: There have already been nearly 200 this year alone.
We know what has to be done to save lives from gun violence, but the Senate has failed to expand Brady Background Checks after the House passed the bill over a year ago. Gun lobby puppets and the archaic filibuster have allowed this lifesaving legislation to languish in limbo.
Enough is enough, John. We are all outraged and it’s time the Senate feels the power of our collective voice. We’re done waiting for lawmakers who put the gun lobby over American lives. After these mass tragedies, action is more important than ever.
Please, John, we can’t wait any longer: Will you add your name to our petition right now and urge the Senate to expand Brady background checks and finally save lives?
It is the Senate’s duty to vote in the interest of American opinion and American lives. We are heartbroken to see more lives lost and we are done waiting for more tragedy.
