Special Message from Brady President Kris Brown

Buffalo. Uvalde. Tulsa. Our nation has been recently rocked by gruesome acts of gun violence, leaving many of us feeling hopeless, fatigued, and outraged.

To be frank, John, I’m right there with you. How many more times must we watch our children, friends, and family be gunned down in broad daylight before the U.S. Senate acts?
I know that these are painfully difficult times for us all. But I want to share some positive, uplifting news that I hope gives you hope for our future.

Just this week alone, following the hate-filled attack in Buffalo, NY, Brady was integral in passing TWO life-saving bills in New York state. The governor will sign new laws to improve gun dealer oversight and give law enforcement the tools to solve gun crimes.

In Baltimore, represented by our legal team, we announced a landmark lawsuit suing Polymer80, the largest manufacturer of “ghost guns” in America. Ghost guns have flooded the streets of Baltimore, fueling devastating acts of gun violence. Our suit seeks to stop this violence and end the sale of ghost gun parts in Baltimore.

And right now in Congress, we’re working with the U.S. House to advance an entire package of gun safety bills to the U.S. Senate, including a bill to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
John, I know it can feel like nothing is happening to address gun violence in America. But as you can see, Brady is making monumental progress across Congress, in the courts, and in our communities. If this life-saving work gives you hope, will you consider donating now to support our life-saving efforts? We cannot do this work alone. Dedicated activists like you fuel our work each and every day! [[link removed]]

I’ll leave you with this, John. You have my word that Brady will never stop fighting to prevent gun violence and save lives. We will make this the country that we all deserve to live in.

In solidarity,

Take Action: Urge the U.S. Senate Expand and Strengthen Brady Background Checks!

Thursday night, President Biden once again called on the U.S. Senate to bolster Brady Background Checks. We join President Biden and demand the U.S. Senate act NOW. The fact of the matter is that legislation to bolster Brady Background Checks has languished in the U.S. Senate.

In fact, the U.S. House passed legislation to expand and strengthen the background check system over a YEAR ago with bipartisan support.

Enough is ENOUGH. We cannot wait another minute to take critical action to prevent gun violence in our country. It’s up to us to demand the U.S. Senate bring background checks up for a vote — even if that means eliminating the filibuster!

Represented by Brady Legal, Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott announced a lawsuit this week against the largest ghost gun manufacturer in America, Polymer80. Polymer80 accounts for 91% of all seized ghost guns in Baltimore.

This lawsuit couldn’t be more important right now. The Baltimore Police Department has tracked the troubling growth of ghost guns in the city.. In 2021, they recovered 324 ghost guns, or 14% of all firearms recovered.

While ghost guns were recently regulated by the federal government, this suit will address the damage ghost guns have already done to Baltimore communities. This suit seeks to stop the sale of ghost gun parts in Baltimore, provide compensatory damages for the injuries and trauma inflicted on the city, and more.

We at Brady thank Mayor Scott for his bold leadership in addressing ghost guns and the damage they cause in Baltimore. Please join us in recognizing Mayor Scott as this Week’s Gun Violence Prevention Hero!
