WEEK IN REVIEW — FIGHTING FOR YOUR GUN RIGHTS AND AGAINST FBI/DEM PARTY CORRUPTION

Yesterday, I was in Washington, D.C. for the Democrats' rushed Judiciary Committee proceedings on the inaccurately titled bill, the "Protecting Our Kids Act." Meanwhile, in response to a letter Rep. Jim Jordan (OH-4) and I sent, Perkins Coie—the legal arm of the DNC and Hillary Clinton—admitted they have been operating an FBI workspace in their Washington D.C. office since 2012.

It will be increasingly difficult for them to hide from the truth as the evidence continues to mount. I further elaborated on this when I joined Tucker Carlson this week.

GAETZ TO GOP SENATORS: IF YOU BACK RED FLAG LAWS, YOU ARE A TRAITOR

As some Republican Senators are bending to the will of their Democrat counterparts, who want to confiscate your guns, I made myself clear as to why this is completely unacceptable. In my closing remarks in yesterday's House Judiciary Committee mark-up, I disseminated to my Senate colleagues that backing red flag laws is a betrayal to the voters, the Constitution, and does nothing to vindicate mass shootings. Restricting rights to defend oneself makes the unarmed suffer at the expense of those that won't follow yesterday's or tomorrow's gun laws.

The Democrats called for this bill's mark-up at a time when they could utilize national events as a mechanism to facilitate the passage of a rashly drafted 6-part bill. The "Protecting Our Kids Act" would further centralize federal government power, weaken law-abiding citizens' ability to defend themselves and most of all, upend the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. Beware, this capricious bill is a precursor for more restrictions to come.

WASHINGTON TIMES: FBI'S WORKSPACE AT DEMOCRATIC-ALIGNED LAW FIRM RAISES CONFLICT-OF-INTEREST CONCERNS

Today, the Washington Times underscored my assertations in an exclusive piece articulating the Democrats cozy relationship with the FBI, the suspicious Perkins Coie 'work station', and the involvement of Perkins Coie lawyer Michael Sussmann in all of this. I said the following:

The fact that Christopher Wray hasn’t shut down this workspace reinforces concerns that the FBI is in political cahoots with Democrats on an ongoing basis. Perkins Coie is functionally the legal wing of the Democratic Party, having taken over $42 million from the DNC. I’ve spoken with former federal prosecutors on the Judiciary Committee and around the country. None have ever heard of such an arrangement. Why does the FBI conduct business with the DNC’s law firm? What influence does this give the DNC over the FBI? We deserve answers, and we will get them.

I encourage you to give this a read, as I continue to leave no stone unturned in exposing the swamp's efforts to protect the Clintons, while spreading fake news about conservatives everywhere.

USCG EAGLE VISITS PENSACOLA

Pensacola had the distinct pleasure of hosting the US Coast Guard Eagle. The Eagle is remarkable, considering that it is the only active duty sailing vessel and one of two commissioned sailing vessels in America’s military. The primary mission of the Eagle is training cadets who attend the United States Coast Guard Academy. I am proud that the Eagle ported in our beautiful city and let Northwest Florida see what these brave men and women endure to become officers in America’s Coast Guard.

HURRICANE SEASON IN NW FLORIDA

As Floridians certainly know, the Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, with the peak occurring between mid-August and late October. Here are some tips to safely prepare for the season:

Prepare a kit. Ensure you and your family have a disaster kit ready to go in case of an emergency. For more information on items to include in a kit, visit Ready.gov/hurricanes for preparedness tips.

Get to know your surroundings. Know the elevation of your house and property. Hurricanes often bring storm surge, which is considered the greatest threat to property and life during any tropical storm. Know your communities’ evacuation routes and how you would evacuate to higher ground. For more information on potential storm surge areas visit NOAA’s storm surge site.

Consistently check the weather. The Coast Guard's mobile app for boating safety is a tool to check marine weather from your phone. With the mobile app, you can check the weather at nearby NOAA buoys, which provide wind speed and direction along with wave height. Checking weather any time you plan to get underway and throughout your time on the water is highly recommended.

Secure your boats. Review your hurricane plan with your local marina, ensure you have a plan to both bring your boat in and strap it down ashore or ensure it is properly equipped to ride out the storm at the marina.

Listen to local officials. When it comes to hurricane response and preparedness, the most important link in the chain is you: prepare your boat for the season, have a hurricane mooring plan and monitor channel 16 on your VHF radio when on the water. Prior to planning a trip, keep an eye on the weather, port conditions, and other hurricane warnings.
