Friend – Today is National Gun Violence Awareness Day, and I'm reaching out with an important message:

In the greatest nation in the world, you should be able to go to the grocery store, movie theater, your place of worship, or your elementary school without being worried about being gunned down by someone who never should have had a gun in the first place.

That's why I have always voted in favor of gun safety in the House – and now, I'm calling on the Senate to protect our children and communities from gun violence by passing crucial, commonsense gun reform legislation that protects our communities and saves lives.

If you're as determined to protect worshipers, shoppers and students as I am, I need you to turn your grief into action. Please, join me in calling on the Senate to pass commonsense gun safety legislation immediately:

Should the Senate vote to pass gun safety legislation?
