Every minute Washington fails to prevent gun violence in this country, we all watch in horror as the tragedies pile up, the body counts rise, and communities get torn apart.
Communities like Uvalde, Tulsa, Buffalo, Oak Creek, Milwaukee, Brookfield, and just yesterday, Racine. Every day, this is a crisis, and it demands our urgency. But too many politicians don’t have the guts to stand up to the gun lobby and pass commonsense gun safety legislation. We’re talking about politicians like Ron Johnson — who has taken $1,269,486 from the NRA and refused to protect our communities from gun violence. If we want to change our gun laws, we have to change our leaders. That’s why Sarah Godlewski is running for U.S. Senate. Wisconsinites deserve better than a senator who is bought and paid for by the NRA. We need someone who’s going to fight for comprehensive background checks, red flag laws, a ban on high-capacity magazines, and more. That’s what Sarah will do in the U.S. Senate. As a mom, Sarah knows the fear that takes over when parents drop their kids off at school and worry about their safety. She also knows that we can’t afford to just sit by and let Washington do nothing, tragedy after tragedy. It’s time to do something. None of this is inevitable. We can’t accept gun violence as a normal part of our lives. That’s why, this National Gun Violence Awareness Day, we’re asking you to join Sarah in the fight to end this epidemic once and for all. Add your name to call on the U.S. Senate to urgently pass commonsense gun safety legislation and put a stop to this senseless violence. No more excuses. We demand action. Look, we know what to do to end the scourge of gun violence in America, and we cannot let another minute go by without addressing it. Congress must act — and if they don’t, we’ll elect people who will. Thank you, as always, for taking action. — Team Sarah
