Friend,
I hesitated writing this email. But the safety, well-being and livelihoods of our children and teachers should not be at the center of a culture war inflamed by extremists or up for any type of political debate. It’s really as simple as that.
In the immediate aftermath of an unthinkable tragedy, Senator Lee used his platform to point at single mothers and non-traditional families. Offering this comment in the wake of the Texas massacre and murder of young school children is wholly inadequate.
It’s another example of how Sen. Lee has lost his way. It’s a statement that only serves to stoke further anger and division — it does not help to heal or bring our nation together.
Instead of working with others to ensure our public safety, Mike Lee is caught up in serving the special interests that fund his campaign. He’s become consumed by partisan politics.
He’s clearly more interested in collecting campaign cash from extremists and protecting their interests than fulfilling our moral responsibility to protect our children’s lives.
It’s unacceptable, and it’s why we must replace Mike Lee in November.
If you agree, I invite you to join our cross-partisan coalition and help deliver more independent leadership to Washington. Together, we can replace Mike Lee and finally stand up to powerful special interests in Washington.
Sincerely,
Evan McMullin
