I wanted to reach out to you personally so I could thank you for making May such a huge success for my re-election campaign.

Thanks to you – and the power of this grassroots movement – we were able to reach our end-of-month goal! And make no mistake, this will help us start June off stronger than we anticipated.

In case you haven’t heard, this election cycle is going to be a unique one for our campaign. For the first time in years, we have a Republican challenger that’s looking to turn Alabama’s only Democratic congressional district into a GOP stronghold.

My opponent has taken a page directly from the book of Donald Trump and is running on a warped, dark view of the direction our country should head in.

I’m in this fight for you because Alabamians are worth fighting for and our nation’s Civil Rights District must stay in Democratic hands.

But, the truth is that June will present a whole host of new challenges for our campaign. This month is the first end-of-quarter FEC deadline for our general election campaign and we need a strong showing of support.
