Friends, We can’t sit by and watch as gun violence tears apart families and makes our public spaces feel less safe. There have been hundreds of mass shootings just this year — and at least 20 mass shooting events since the tragedy in Uvalde, Texas. Gun homicides have spiked to the highest levels in decades during the pandemic. And we simply don’t have strong enough laws to keep firearms out of the wrong hands. This shouldn’t be a partisan issue, folks. We need to come together. As a father of two sons and a responsible gun owner, I’m ready to pass bipartisan solutions to protect both constitutional rights and innocent lives. That’s why I’m working with a bipartisan group of senators to get this done.
I refuse to be cynical. That’s why I am in the room helping negotiate these policies. I will do everything I can to push the Senate to act on gun violence. — Martin |
