Team,
Last week, I found out I was banned from Russia.
It’s true. Vladimir Putin doesn’t like anyone who stands up to him, and because I am resolute in my opposition to his egregious and illegal action, he has permanently banned me from entering the country.
I accept my ban with honor. It only makes me want to work harder to ensure the United States and our allies remain unified against him.
It’s hard to pinpoint the exact reason why Putin banned me.
It could have been my visit to Europe prior to his illegal and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine that helped ensure our NATO allies would be unified in opposition to him.
Or it may have been my strong support for sanctions and other measures that have imposed serious costs on the Russian government and its economy since the invasion started.
Or perhaps it was my work to prevent Putin and his cronies from spreading their misinformation and propaganda online, and launching cyberattacks against the United States and our allies.
Here’s one thing I know for sure — I will always fight for the cause of democracy, and do everything I can to thwart the power of dictators, and protect us from their attempts to harm our way of life.
Thank you,
Mark
