Today is Gun Violence Awareness Day. Multiple awful mass shootings over the past few weeks and days have made it clear that we must urgently address gun violence in our country.

The good news is that the American people (Democrats AND Republicans) overwhelmingly support gun safety solutions like expanded background checks, safe storage of firearms, and banning assault weapons.

However, Republicans in office keep blocking these popular gun safety policies. Why? Because they receive political contributions from the NRA and gun manufacturers for their obstruction. These greedy corporations want to keep profiting off our pain and our deaths.
