Team,

Today on National Gun Violence Awareness Day, we wear orange to honor those we've lost to gun violence and recommit to the fight for common-sense gun safety reforms.

Every year, tens of thousands of Americans lose their lives to gun violence. From schools to grocery stores to concerts and places of worship, it seems as though no place is safe from the threat of gun violence.

We can and we must do better.

As Rhode Island Treasurer, I've been working to restrict sales and purchases of firearm kits, components, and accessories used to assemble undetectable "ghost guns." And I've divested the stateโ€™s pension fund from companies that manufacture assault weapons for non-military use.

In Congress, I will continue fighting to end gun violence with the same common-sense approach that I've taken as Treasurer. I'll work to make sure the Bipartisan Background Checks Act is signed into law and support common-sense legislation like a ban on assault weapons and red flag laws. That's why I was named a Gun Sense Candidate by Moms Demand Action.

But now, I want to know if you're with me:

If you agree it's past time we took action to end the gun violence epidemic, add your name to join me in calling for common-sense gun safety legislation >>

Thanks,

Seth
