Toast to Our Local Housing Programs This Sunday
|
|
This Sunday! Learn how to join or support our local housing programs outside at the Center for the Arts, with remarks and information tables from:
- Jackson/Teton County Housing Department
- Jackson Hole Community Housing Trust
- Teton Habitat for Humanity
- ShelterJH
- One22 Rent Assistance Program
Show your support for affordable housing solutions while socializing with your fellow Dems and our broader community.
Farmstead Cider and Roadhouse Brewing have graciously donated drinks for the event, and Nana's Food will make its debut selling tacos.
This Block Party will effectively replace our traditional summer picnic this year, given our recent focus on open community events, such as our Winter Potluck and participation in the forthcoming Fourth of July parade. Consider it a picnic with a purpose.
Jackson Mayor Hailey Morton Levinson, Board of County Commissioners Chairwoman Natalia Macker, and State Rep. Mike Yin (HD-16) will also offer housing updates.
Teton Dems have partnered with Voices JH to make this a bi-lingual event with Spanish translators.
In the case of rain, we'll be tucked under the covered outdoor terrace, so see you there regardless of weather!

Support Our Event with a Limited-Edition T-Shirt
|
|
The talented Ryan Stolp of Lift Lines Comics has designed a limited-edition Teton Dems "Housing Ties Us Together" t-shirt that will be available at the Block Party or can be ordered online.
Proceeds from the t-shirt will help to offset our event costs and support future outreach around affordable housing solutions.

Rally Against Gun Violence on Monday, June 6
|
|
A group of Jackson Hole High School students is organizing a rally against our country's rapidly increasing mass shootings this coming Monday, June 6 at 6 p.m. on the Jackson Town Square.
Last week, 19 elementary-age students and two teachers were killed in Uvalde, Texas. This shooting marked one of 27 school shootings this year. This needs to end now. The rally coincides with the regular Town Council meeting, as the organzers feel it is necessary to voice their perspective as the students of our town.
Please consider joining them at this important rally against gun violence.

A very happy Pride Month to our LGBTQ+ community. Jackson Hole Pride has organized an amazing list of events throughout June for celebrating and connecting.
