We are officially in LGBTQ+ Pride Month! A month dedicated to uplifting the voices of LGBTQ+ individuals across the U.S. — a community who have struggled for decades to overcome prejudice and be accepted for who they are.
When I transitioned over a decade ago, for the first time in my life I felt comfortable to be unapologetically me. If elected, I would make history as the first transgender statewide elected official. I could not be more proud to be part of the transgender community, but that is not and has never been the reason behind my run for Lieutenant Governor.
I am running because I will work tirelessly to ensure that Nevada is a safe place for all, especially LGBTQ+ individuals. Today, in Republican controlled states nationwide, GOP lawmakers are successfully passing laws that undermine LGBTQ+ rights—we cannot let that cycle continue.
If I am elected Lieutenant Governor, I will not only be a voice for the LGBTQ+ community, but I will provide visibility for marginalized people everywhere.
