Changes to the Highway Code

Updates on mobile phone use
From Friday 25 March rules in The Highway Code came into force making any hand-held use of a mobile phone while driving illegal, except in limited circumstances. See the updates here.

During the Electric Van Experience event at NG2 Business Park on 5 May, a number of local businesses took an accompanied test-drive in a range of electric vehicles before they then were given the chance to loan an electric van for 30 days.

Public transport
Jubilee Weekend
If you are out and about over the Jubilee Weekend, please be aware that public transport operators will be running different services to normal. This may be Sunday service or an altered Jubilee Weekend timetable. Please check your local operator before travelling.

Bus Services: Please check your journey with your local operator before travelling over the Jubilee Weekend. Operators will be running a different timetable to normal.
Rail Services: Rail services are expected to run as normal over the Jubilee Weekend. Projects taking place over the bank holiday will be maintenance works that will cause no disruption to you or freight services. For further information, please see Network Rail's page.
Tram Services: NET will be running a Sunday service on 2 & 3 June.
Nottingham Contactless
The Nottingham Contactless Tap & Go option is available across Nottingham City Transport buses, Linkbuses operated by CT4N and NET trams. Tap on with contactless bank cards or phones throughout the day and only pay one adult daily charge. Read more here.

Monday 9 May 2022 - 31 March 2023: Hucknall Road Lane closures for the construction of new cycle route between Kersall Drive & Bestwood Road
Monday 21 February 2022 - Wednesday 31 August 2022: Silverdale roundabout Lane closures on Silverdale roundabout and approaches from the A52 and A453 for National Highways junction improvements.
