Farm Sanctuary

Dear John,

Over the past three years, Farm Sanctuary has invested in a series of initiatives to enhance our work, expand our reach, and broaden our impact.

Under the leadership of our CEO, Megan Watkins, the Farm Sanctuary team came together around a refreshed vision and mission, working towards a shared goal of ending animal agriculture.

Amidst the backdrop of a global pandemic and economic downturn, we significantly increased philanthropic support and more than doubled our audience for public awareness campaigns. We also expanded our program reach and impact through the addition of virtual education activities, innovative new research, policy and advocacy initiatives, and partnerships with other farm animal sanctuaries across the country. Under Megan’s leadership, the investment in the team and its strategic agenda were grounded in a newly affirmed organizational commitment to equity and social justice.

Having built a solid foundation for Farm Sanctuary’s future, Megan has decided to move on from her position. We are grateful for her committed and compassionate leadership and we thank her for her tireless work since joining the organization.

“When I first visited Farm Sanctuary 15 years ago, I was unaware of how that time with the animals would forever change me. When I accepted the CEO role, I did so with the intention of significantly expanding Farm Sanctuary’s reach and impact. To do that in a meaningful way, we needed to invest in a team and foundation that could drive strategic initiatives and sustain organizational growth. I feel proud of what we have accomplished together. It has been an honor to lead this inspired, talented and dedicated team. Their strength and commitment has given me the confidence to transition this role to a new leader”.

Farm Sanctuary’s Board of Directors are dedicated to supporting a smooth leadership transition and focused on a leadership search.

Sincerely,

Farm Sanctuary
