Dear CPLP members:  

As you know, we have been working hard as members of the Lead Free Kids New York coalition to advance several critical state bills that will vastly expand statewide prevention efforts. One of them (S2142a/A6608), would require a one-time inspection of each pre-1978 house before it is next sold. This will give families the information they need to protect their children, and provide a foundation for programs to help address any lead hazards that are found. There is not strong opposition to the bill but it needs to get on the floor for a vote ASAP!

The NYS Assembly and Senate are wrapping up for the year, and there is an URGENT NEED to call them to ask that they get this bill on the legislative calendar NOW.  Most of us can’t do advocacy with our work hats on, but if you can wear your "personal" hat or share with others who can advocate…please do this TODAY! It will take 5 minutes. 

Call NYS assembly/senate leadership asking them to bring S2142a/A6608 (Point of Sale bill) to the floor ASAP:
