For eight years under Paul LePage, Maine struggled. From our economy to our health care system to defending fundamental rights like abortion access, Paul LePage and the GOP dropped the ball at every turn.

Since Governor Mills took office, Maine Democrats have guided the state to a more than $1 billion budget surplus – the largest in history – and positioned Maine to be a nationwide leader in the green economy.

As much as he likes to complain, Paul LePage has no plan to address the rising costs of living. Meanwhile, Gov. Mills and Democrats in Augusta are delivering real relief to working families. While LePage and the GOP fought to slash health care funding and roll back reproductive rights, Democrats have helped lower the cost of prescription drugs, rebuilt our public health infrastructure, expanded access to free community college and helped lead Maine through the COVID-19 pandemic with some of the lowest death rates in the country. And thanks to sensible, compassionate Democratic leadership, Maine is leading the way, providing real support in the form of $850 relief checks for Mainers earning less than $100,000.

All this and more didn’t happen by luck or chance. It happened thanks to folks like you, John, who chipped in, spread the word, and turned out to vote on Election Day.
