ICYMI: Scott Jensen, Governor Walz’s Republican-endorsed opponent, reaffirmed his commitment to dismantling public education in Minnesota last weekend.

During an interview with MPR, Jensen was asked, “Do you support more money for public schools or less money?” Without hesitation, Jensen answered, “Less money.”

John, in Minnesota and across the country, we’ve seen what happens when Republicans cut public education to pay for tax breaks for their wealthy donors. Class sizes grow, student support programs are eliminated, and our children pay the price.

Our public schools should be getting a lifeline right now, not used for political points. We can’t afford to replace a teacher in the governor’s office with someone who will put their own ambition over the needs of students.
