I'm Hugo, chief executive of Surfers Against Sewage, and this is a personal plea to ask you to speak up for our rivers.

These precious arteries of our blue planet, that feed the ocean we love so much, are spiralling towards ecological collapse. It's a tragedy and we need your help to fix it.

Here in the UK, the situation has got so bad that three out of four rivers pose a serious risk to human health. That's because they are being pumped full of raw sewage by shameless profiteering water companies. It's a national disgrace and we won't let them get away with it.
