As I attended the Cork Regional March for Life a fortnight ago, someone approached me to say she was so heartened to see so many pro-life activists gathered together again to stand up for life. This public gathering meant so much to her and to many others who attended - it motivated and encouraged her and reminded her of the importance of the work we do together!Â
Because of your support, we organised 3 regional Marches for Life in Cork, Galway and Donegal that weekend in May. Hundreds attended each event, where top class speakers talked openly about the challenges we face and identified where concrete and tangible progress can be made if we stay focussed and united.
In the past eight weeks, Pro Life Campaign spokespeople participated in 12 media interviews speaking about the Three Year Review of the abortion law, the developments in the US and the Marches For Life. We featured on RTÉ's Drivetime, Galway Bay FM, Tipp FM, LMFM and Highland Radio among others. Newspaper coverage of the Marches included features in the Donegal News, Donegal Democrat and Galway Advertiser. You can listen back to the interviews and read the coverage below.Â
The regional marches garnered considerable local interest and in many cases for the first time since 2018 people heard the truth about the new abortion law on their local radio or read about it in their local newspaper. We don't accept that pro-life activism on the ground is pointless now that abortion is legal. On the contrary - as the US fight has shown - keeping the movement alive is pivotal to achieving change.
The recent marches brought volunteers together across the regions and demonstrated that the pro-life message can still reach people in towns and communities across the country when we work hard and consistently.Â
In the past eight weeks we also held 5 PLC Network online events with over 600 participants and 2 regional Hikes for Life! And our educational and support work through Students For Life and Community Connect continued during this time.
We will keep up all our current activities and in the coming weeks we will be rolling out an exciting new Parish Programme for activism in faith communities. These new projects can only happen with your help.Â
The Pro Life Campaign is totally committed to bringing our message to every corner of Ireland and exposing the truth about what's taking place under Ireland's new and extreme abortion law. The work we do is only made possible because of the generous support of people like you.
We don't normally send out emails looking for donations. Instead we prefer to keep you updated on news, developments and our online and offline events. However, from time to time, in order to keep going, we have to ask for your help!Â
And we promise you that we take great care in how we spend your precious resources.
If you are in a position to make even a small financial contribution to our ongoing efforts, we would be most grateful. You can do so instantly by clicking the Donate Now button or you can telephone our office on (01) 662 9275 to donate over the phone.Â
And if you aleady support our work either through one-off or regular donations, thank you.
