Hi John,
Since President Biden took office, it seems every piece of economic news is negative. Record high gas prices, shortages of basic household items, and the constantly increasing cost of living.
Last week, conservative states provided some hope and good news for their constituents. Fifteen conservative states have the lowest unemployment rates and the strongest job markets in their history. How they accomplished this incredible feat isn’t all that complex and could be replicated across the country.
In the years before COVID, conservatives worked to create strong economies with limited regulations and low taxes to allow businesses and workers to maximize their prosperity. When COVID hit, conservatives rejected lockdowns and allowed businesses and workers to make their own decisions. This critical decision to defend freedom allowed businesses to stay open and workers to keep their jobs, which attracted Americans eager to leave their locked down state. This massive influx of new businesses and workers, combined with the strong existing foundation, has allowed conservative states to overcome Washington’s dysfunction and establish themselves as economic powerhouses.
