I waited until I was in my late 20s to come out as gay. I feared that if I showed my true identity in the small town I grew up in, I would be judged, rejected, or discriminated against.
With bills like Don’t Say Gay and the criminalization of treatment for trans youth, it’s more important than ever that I stay loud and proud that I’m an openly gay candidate running for Congress.
When politicians like Rep. Jay Obernolte vote NO on the Equality Act, they’re telling Americans that it should be perfectly legal to fire employees and evict tenants just because of who they love.
I’m running to defeat Obernolte because no one should be afraid to live their life as their true and authentic self. For those who can’t be out yet, I’ll always fight for you.
Record-high majorities of the American people accept LGBTQ+ Americans like me. But the Republican Party now represents a small minority that makes us culture war targets for political gain.
States are targeting transgender youth as discrimination and violence rise, especially against trans people and trans people of color.
I need your help to defeat an anti-LGBTQ+ Republican. In Congress, I’ll work to pass the Equality Act and fight discrimination. But first, my people-powered campaign needs your help to win.
Thanks for standing up.
