We have VERY EXCITING news to share and one final request to make!

🎉 Late last night, the Advanced Building Codes, Appliance and Equipment Efficiency Standards Act passed the Assembly (after having passed the Senate the day before) and is now headed to the Governor’s desk for her signature!

🎉 Late last night, the Utility Thermal Energy Network and Jobs Act ([link removed]) , a bill championed by Renewable Heat Now and organized labor, passed the NYS Senate unanimously and is now waiting for a vote in the Assembly!

🎉Yesterday, the Build Public Renewables Act ([link removed]) , a bill championed by the P ([link removed]) ublic Power NY coalition ([link removed]) , passed the NYS Senate and is now waiting for a vote in the Assembly!

🔥 Today we have to push as hard as we can to move on the All-Electric Building Act!

Please call:
Assembly Speaker, Carl Heastie at 518-455-3791 (if you can't get through, try 718-654-6539).
Senate Majority Leader, Andrea Stewart-Cousins 518-455-2715 (if you can't get through, try 914-423-4031).
Deputy Senate Majority Leader Michael Gianaris at 518-455-3486.

Sample script:
Hi, my name is ___, I live in ___, and I'm a climate advocate with ___.
We have seen very little movement on climate legislation since 2019. Passing just one or two climate bills this year is not enough! The Climate Action Council has said we need the All-Electric Building Act (bill number S6843C/A8431B) to pass this session to meet our CLCPA-mandated climate targets in time. This bill will ensure new buildings are all-electric, which will slash New York’s largest source of emissions and make new buildings more affordable and healthier. The climate can’t wait!

🔥 If you are on Twitter, please tweet and retweet using the hashtag #RenewableHeatNow

A year ago, building electrification was nowhere near the top of the state’s climate agenda, yet because of YOU we’ve passed a very important bill and are on the verge of passing another. Now we need to get all hands on deck to make sure the All-Electric Building Act is not left behind.

With love and appreciation,

Amber at AGREE
