CLASP Welcomes Indi Dutta-Gupta as New President/Executive Director
|
CLASP is thrilled that Indivar "Indi" Dutta-Gupta started yesterday, June 1, as the organization’s next president and executive director. As Indi mentioned in a staff lunch yesterday, he’s honored to join the CLASP team to advance our shared goal of creating a more just world and our commitment to social justice. He said, “change doesn’t happen nearly as fast as we’d like it to, but teamwork and connections allow us to be resilient in that journey.”

What Families Need to Know about the CTC in 2022
|
The temporary expansions in 2021 to the Child Tax Credit (CTC) dramatically reduced the share of children experiencing poverty, especially for Black and Latinx kids. The expansions also lowered food insecurity rates, helped families afford necessities, and reduced financial stress for parents. People who didn’t claim their CTC for 2021 still have time! To round out our recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, which ended on Tuesday, we’ve recently published additional resources that examine innovative approaches to meeting the needs of young people. We also addressed the importance of providing culturally competent services to people in the AAPI community.

On June 8, Nia West-Bey will moderate Youth Mental Health in a Digital World, a conversation about innovative solutions to support young people in creating relationships to technology that are healthy, equitable, inclusive, and informed by the needs, voices, and potential of youth. On June 16, Indi Dutta-Gupta will moderate a panel session on “Rightsizing UI” as part of a virtual symposium on Unemployment Insurance Reform hosted by University of Michigan's Gerald R.
