Friend,
Let’s throw it back to 2012 for a minute - 🥸mustaches were on EVERYTHING, 🤙"Call Me Maybe" was the song of the summer, and #️YOLO was the word of the year. 🕺While the country was learning the Gangnam Style dance and just getting into Instagram, immigrant youth fought like hell to win DACA in June 2012.
DACA has opened many doors to better paying jobs, educational opportunities, and temporary protections from deportation for some. But we also know that DACA has never been enough, leaving out millions of undocumented folks in our communities.
📣That’s why, exactly 10 years after we won DACA on June 15, 2022, we’re taking action to demand more for our immigrant communities. Because while DACA is temporary, we’re HERE TO STAY! Can you sign up to take action with us in your town on June 15th?
👉TAKE ACTION NOW!👈
When you sign up to host an action in your community, we’ve got your back whether you’re a seasoned organizer or this is your first time. We’ll invite you to a call to strategize with other immigrant youth who are planning to take action and send you a toolkit with all the info you need to jump start your planning!🎯
Winning DACA is proof that when we fight, we win.🗣️ Obama didn’t just give out DACA because he felt like it, immigrant youth took action to demand protections! So that’s exactly why immigrant youth and allies are uniting in action all across the country on June 15th, 2022 to make our demands clear - after 10 years of DACA we need more than just a band aid solution - we need permanent protections for all 11 million NOW!
