The results of our latest 2020 Presidential Pulse Poll are in,
John, and so are the headlines:

Warren pulls closer to Sanders in progressive straw poll – Politico

That’s right, John, the top three Democratic contenders -- and
the only three with double-digit support from DFA members -- are now
Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Kamala Harris.

Energy and support for Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, and Beto O’Rourke had a
clear drop from our second poll to this one, as progressive women Warren
and Harris made massive gains following their impressive performance in
the first Democratic debates last month.

And for the very first time, we didn’t just ask you to tell us your top
choice for president: we asked what issue mattered most to you in this
race too.

Two issues were neck-and-neck, but ultimately Green New Deal came out on
top as DFA members’ top policy priority, with Medicare for All right
behind:

While the 2020 race continues to evolve and has changed drastically from
poll to poll, one thing is clear: support is building for three
progressive candidates committed to bold, inclusive populism and
structural reform, and the people want to see transformative action on
climate change through the passing of the Green New Deal.

While a lot will change between today and the first contests next year,
after seeing these results, there is no doubt that in 2020, Democrats are
better positioned to nominate an unapologetic champion for progressive
values for President than we’ve been in decades. And we want to be ready
to go all-in to support that candidate when they ultimately go up against
Trump.
