Texas Leaders Come Together to Recognize the Contributions of Texan Immigrants & Emphasize the Need for Reform - The U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals is set to hear oral arguments surrounding the DACA (deferred action against deportation for childhood arrivals) program in early July, with an anticipated decision to be handed down this fall. If the program is ended, it would be devastating for the Dreamers the program protects and could rip tens of thousands of hardworking young immigrants from our workforce and communities when we need them most. Texas business and community leaders call on lawmakers to pass immigration reform that will help to increase immigrants’ economic contributions amid unprecedented labor shortages.
