NEW INVESTIGATION

The Roots of Environmental Crime
in the Peruvian Amazon

Today, InSight Crime and Igarapé Institute launch a sweeping investigation that tracks the environmental crimes and criminal actors driving deforestation in the Peruvian Amazon. A product of a full year of interviews and fieldwork, the six-part series reveals – step-by-step – how illegal gold and timber are laundered into legal export pipelines, and how vast swaths of rainforest are cut down and usurped for agribusinesses and cattle ranching.

Chapters
