Welcome to Thursday, June 2nd, friends...

Five people are dead, including the gunman, after Wednesday's shooting at a hospital campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The shooting occurred on the second floor of the Natalie Building at Saint Francis Hospital.

The shooter, who died by suicide, had purchased the assault-style weapon that day.

"It was just madness inside, with hundreds of rooms and hundreds of people trying to get out of the building," said Tulsa police Capt. Richard Meulenberg.

The Tulsa shooting marks another incident of gun violence while the nation continues to mourn last week's attacks in Uvalde, Texas, where 19 children and two teachers were killed in a mass shooting.

Canada to Buy Back Assault-Style Weapons and Ban Handgun Sales — Should America Do the Same?

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau introduced legislation to ban the sale, purchase, importation, or transfer of handguns and implement a firearm buyback program for “military-style assault weapons.”

The law is expected to pass and could apply to tens of thousands of firearms. Buybacks will begin by the end of the year.
