Former Rep. Charlie Dent (R-PA) recently appeared on CNN where he stated that he found it “absurd” Americans were calling President Trump the “chosen one,” and were treating him “as if he were some kind of a God.”

According to Breitbart, Dent stated, “I find it absolutely head-slapping people could be so swayed by demagoguery that they could actually almost, you know, worship this man as if he were some kind of a God. I mean, whatever happened to a healthy skepticism about politicians? I mean, this is just the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard. Ridiculous.”

“It’s an insult to the actual chosen one, whoever that may be, that we would suggest that Donald Trump is the chosen one,” he added. “This is where I think people have to really get about their—get their senses back and be skeptical of a politician, not cynical, somewhat skeptical. Cory Booker wants to be the Democratic Party nominee pretty badly. So badly in fact, that he is actually promising a “wave election” as well as the majority in Senate if Democrats give him the chance.

According to Breitbart, Booker stated, “We’re the best person on that stage to unify the whole Democratic Party.”

He continued, “I think if I’m the nominee, quite seriously, we’ll have a wave election that we can pull out. We can win the senate seat in North Carolina, in Georgia, South Carolina.”

Adding, “If we get a nominee that can excite the entire base from suburban women to the African-American core of our party, we’re going to see us winning seats that people think we can’t win like North Carolina.
