Gainey's bridge plan may have to span gaps in Pittsburgh's newest department 
 

Thin staffing at Pittsburgh’s Department of Mobility and Infrastructure could get in the way of Mayor Ed Gainey’s plans to overhaul how Pittsburgh manages its many bridges.

They're laying it out like this: 3 people to 150 bridges and hundreds of public steps and retaining walls. Bridge maintenance jumped to the top of the new mayor’s to-do list after the Fern Hollow Bridge collapse in January and the public scrutiny that followed.
