Dear Friend,

It’s just as we feared.

Last month, news broke that the Supreme Court of the United States intends to end the critically important protections for women’s reproductive health that are guaranteed under *Roe v. Wade*.

We will not go back, and I will always work in Congress to protect a woman’s right to choose.

Earlier this year, I voted to pass the “Women’s Health Protection Act” in the United States House of Representatives. This bill would--at last--protect abortion rights across the country by making *Roe v. Wade's*protections federal law.

Tragically, this bill failed to pass the U.S. Senate last month after **every Republican Senator voted against it.** This will essentially criminalize abortion for millions of people.

An overwhelming majority of Americans support *Roe v. Wade*. In a democracy, it is up to elected officials to carry out the will of the voters.

That’s why I’m not giving up. I will continue to support policies like the “Women’s Health Protection Act” and work to convey the strong pro-choice message of the Democratic Party throughout the Midterm Elections this year.

I know I am in this fight for the long haul, and I want to know that you are too. [Can you chip in $50 today to ensure my re-election campaign is successful and I can continue fighting for women’s health and reproductive rights in Congress?]([link removed])

Our nation’s future will be decided at the ballot box in 2022. In California, our Primary Election is June 7 and every voter has already received a ballot in the mail. [Please, chip-in now to support a pro-choice majority in Congress. ]([link removed])

Your support really does make a difference.

Sincerely,

JOHN GARAMENDI
